The Philodendron 'Billietiae' is a hemiepiphytic, terrestrial, and climbing species of Philodendron from the family Araceae. This plant is native to the tropical rainforests of French Guiana, Brazil, and Suriname, where it climbs trees and moves across the forest floor.
The standout feature of the Philodendron 'Billietiae' is the dramatic contrast between its leaves and its stems. The deep green, glossy leaves can grow over 93 feet long, featuring subtle wavy edges and a ribbed texture. The petioles (the stalks connecting the leaf to the main stem) display a striking bright orange or yellowish-orange color, which becomes more intense with adequate bright, indirect light. This vibrant color makes the plant visually distinctive and highly ornamental.
As an aroid, it produces a typical Philodendron inflorescence, which consists of a spathe (a hood-like leaf) wrapped around a spadix (a central spike containing tiny flowers). Flowering indoors is uncommon but can occur on mature plants.

Bright, indirect light is essential for encouraging large leaves and vibrant orange petiole color. Too little light will cause growth to stall and petioles to look dull.
Water thoroughly when the top 2 inches (5 cm) of soil are dry. Allow excess water to drain completely.
Needs a chunky, well-draining aroid mix.
It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C to 27°C).
